Lesli Larson's mention of Raw Deal reminded me of a series of "escape" films -- which might be interesting in terms of how they offer a fantasy bribe of operating outside institutions/institutionalized discourse (or even a self-reflexive commentary on film as "escape" from the structures of film form/Hollywood narrative...but that's a casual stretch).
