Re: Dubbing Dubbing is a very complex matter. In "The Conformist" it's not Jean-Louis Trintignant speaking his lines, but an Italian actor dubbing them in. And in American film, at least for the past 15 years or so, all dialogue is digitally rendered. In fact "additonal dialogue replacement" (adr) preceded the now commonplace digital manipulation of the image. I'd like to hear more about this. It seems to me that all sound in film these days is heavily digitized. ---------------------- Robert Kolker Department of English University of Maryland, College Park [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask] http://www.inform.umd.edu/ARHU/Depts/English/englfac/RKolker/ 301.405.6250 ---- To signoff SCREEN-L, e-mail [log in to unmask] and put SIGNOFF SCREEN-L in the message.
