Are the accents in "Fargo" accurate? Oh Yah, you betcha! Having been born and raised in Minneapolis, I found the Minnesota dialect hilariously dead-on, albeit highly exaggerated. In many films the Texas or Southern or New York accents are over the top, and in this case it's the same thing - but with an accent that has not been used a million times in other films. Although I don't know if the whole restaurant scene with the Asian high school classmate of Marge's lying and crying to her had anything to do with the rest of the film, I liked the way we first heard his accent over the phone and later found out that he was not Scandinavian-American.
