The print of LA PASSION DE JEANNE D'ARC (9,201 feet) shown by the British Film
Instutute at the Museum of the Moving Image, London, according to their
 programme
note, "derives from material donated to the National Film and Television Archive
 in
1949".  It would well be that viewing copies weren't being circulated until the
 80s, but
this sounds fishy to me.
