THE AMERICAN DANCE FESTIVAL Presents 1997 ADF DANCING FOR THE CAMERA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF FILM AND VIDEO DANCE CALL FOR ENTRIES This festival will be a major survey of dance for the camera in the global community of dance and will provide an overview of the current trends and practices of artists and choreographers working in both film and video, as well as an historic survey of the genre . ADF will be holding its second International Festival of Film and Video Dance in Durham, North Carolina as a part of it"s 1997 season (June 12 - July 26). ADF is soliciting entries in three categories for juried public screenings. Those categories are: *CHOREOGRAPHY FOR THE CAMERA - original work made specifically for thr video/film medium or a staged work remade for the camera (not a documentation of a performance) *DOCUMENTARY - productions which include interviews or other educational elements in addition to choreography *EXPERIMENTAL - work that extends the boundries of the medium and can exist only in the realm of video or film DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Wednesday, January 22, 1997, at 6 p.m. in ADF's New York office. All work not chosen for public screenings will be featured in a video salon and may be viewed at any time during the festival. Entries must be submitted on VHS videotape in NTSC or PAL formats. Film transfers to vidoetape will be accepted. The entry fee is $25 per videotape.
