Feeling (but not too) reluctant to begin another list of films ... In response to the query requesting names of films which highlight the development process of photographs (or gradually reveal their image) and an auditory equivalent (whatever that would sound like) ... I'd like to suggest _Blood Simple_, by the Coen Bros. The private detective hired to spy on the supposed-by-the-husband adulterous couple (hubby's wife and employee) takes pictures of the couple sleeping (yes, sleeping) together, and then alters them to make it look as if he had shot them to death which was the husband's request. An auditory equivalent, in the same film, might be the scene in which the male adulterer (I forget names) is trying to tell the wife that he shot her husband (although he is mistaken -- the private detective did), and as they are standing in his apt. in front of the screen door, all sound is muted as we watch on the right side of the screen the expression of the wife's face change as she slowly realizes the serious of the situation ... all the while (this happens in seconds, but is so effective time seems to stretch) we see a newspaper flying towards the door and when it hits, the sound returns, "voluminously", as it were. (I realize my prose is oddly constructed here, but it's been a long weekend, and promises to be a longer week.)
