In discussing slow motion in FILM AS ART, Rudolf Arnheim writes:
"And once again, Pudovkin is the pioneer. . . . he is using slow-motion in
his new film THE WORLD IS BEAUTIFUL . . . "

It's unclear from the passage whether Arnheim means that Pudovkin is the
pioneer in using the device in general or just in using it in a particular way.
He also cites ENTR'ACTE.
