Documentary Box, the journal of the Yamagata International Documentary Film
Festival, is seeking articles that explore recent trends in the documentary
cinemas of nations and regions around the world (particularly of Asia), as
well as historical and theoretical issues in documentary film practice.
Documentary Box is published in conjunction with our biennial festival, and
is also made available at the festival's Internet site:
Articles are generally from 2000 to 2500 words in length, but longer pieces
are occasionally accepted. Authors of submissions accepted for publication
by the editors will receive a renumeration. Submissions can be made year
round, but the deadline for the next issue is September 5, 1996. For
information on format and submission procedures, or to submit an article,
