The genre quaestion and Delicatessen.
I guess there is also a portion of dystopia in Delicatessen, in that
(if I remember correctly) it presupposes some atomic distaster, which
is a commonplace in dystopic literature and film (cf. 1984 etc.).
Also, what about the subterranean subversives? I would see
Delicatessen as an attempt to carnivalize dystopia very similar to
Terry Gilliam's Brazil, which I am currently writing about. But I may
get it all wrong...and this won't help you too much.
