>Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of _Tranformers The Movie_? I am >looking at violence in animated features and television cartoons. I believe >Transformers was the first PG rated animated film due to violent content. > >TAD TABORN > ================== Sorry, can't help with finding a copy of TRANSFORMERS. BUT it was NOT the first animated feature rated PG for violence. TRANSFORMERS was released in 1986. WATERSHIP DOWN in 1978 received a PG because of the vicious behavior of some of its rabbit characters. LORD OF THE RINGS, also 1978, received a PG, presumably for violence. Ralph Bakshi's WIZARDS in 1977 received a PG probably for violence--though there is a scantily clad fairy princess in it and I don't recall how strong the language may have been. [FRITZ THE CAT (1972) and THE NINE LIVES OF FRITZ THE CAT (1974) received X and R ratings respectively, but in both cases it was only partly for violence. Ditto for COONSKIN (aka STREETFIGHT) in 1975 with its R rating, HEAVY TRAFFIC in 1973 with its X, HEAVY METAL and AMERICAN POP, both in 1981 and both R.] --Richard J. Leskosky Richard J.
