I have been taking "American Cinematographer" since about 1983.  Since
then, cinematographers have had to cope with the demands created by digital
processes, and the magazine has responded by printing ever-increasing
numbers of articles on computer-generated animation, digital compositing,
creating on film images suitable for digital manipulation etc.  A quick
scan of AC should provide an overview of recent history as well as a survey
of techniques and technology.
