The Society for Cinema Studies Conference provides opportunities for all types of research and approaches to understanding film, video, TV, and other new media. The conference will be composed of papers and presentations addressing all aspects of media history, theory, and criticism as well as this year's special topic. SPECIAL FOCUS FOR THIS YEAR: Visual cultures in the nineties. Including: What is going on in both mainstream and alternative cultures of film, video, and TV today? What new trends can be foreseen in media conglomerate ownership and to what effect?
