Leo Bankersen is right in naming Wayne Wang's films, but he leaves out what I consider to be Wang's most important statement on the immigrant experience: DIM SUM (1985). See it together with Joan Micklin-Silver's CROSSING DELANCEY (1988) and note the similarities in the treatment of the theme of cultural transmission.
