   I don't think poor was necessarily the emphasis they were trying to make.
The house is shown in a disheveled state probably because they wanted to show
that Sid's family DIDN'T CARE. Remember when Buzz found out he really was a
toy? There was a shot of the father lazed out in a recliner. If they were
poor, what would that kid be doing with all of those explosives and tools?
Orthodontic work is extremely expensive also... If you'll remember; Sid had a
mouthful of braces.
