From: Tony Williams English SIUC Dear Steve, Which musical additions are you referring to re. NAPOLEON? The Colin Davis musical accompaniement to the film limited to Britain thanks to Francis Coppola is far superior to that dreadful, crnaky score written by his father Carmine. Rather than contributing to the visuals or illustrating the various visual nuances it is highly distracting. The only way one can watch Gance's film without irritation is truning down the soundtrack so Carmine Coppola's awful music does not grind viewer sensibilities down. It is a shame that the U.S. Video version only contains Coppola's score not Colin Davis's which is far better.
