Something strange is happening here, why it is ain't exactly clear... SCREEN-L is in the midst of its annual subscription renewal process. Each of you will be sent a note from the clerical robot that runs SCREEN-L (named LISTSERV) asking you to confirm your subscription to SCREEN-L. The purpose of this is to weed out addresses in the subscription list that have long gone bad or been forgotten (but are set to NOMAIL so that their defunctness is not obvious). Well, for some reason that I can't yet explain, LISTSERV seems to have sent this renewal request *twice* to each subscriber. Go figure. I've sent a note to our LISTSERV supervisor here asking about it. Mebbe he'll be able to shed some light on the process. JUST TO BE SAFE... I'd suggest doing the confirmation twice. Can't hurt anything. Sorry for the extra hassle and thanks for your patience. P.S. If your confirmation works right, you'll get a note from LISTSERV saying: Your subscription to the SCREEN-L list has been confirmed. ---------- Old age is the most unexpected of all the things that happen to a man. --Leon Trotsky "Diary in Exile" (1935) ---------- | Jeremy Butler - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [log in to unmask] | | SCREEN-L/SCREENsite Coordinator http://www.sa.ua.edu/tcf/welcome.htm | | Telecommunication & Film Dept * The University of Alabama * Tuscaloosa | ---- To signoff SCREEN-L, e-mail [log in to unmask] and put SIGNOFF SCREEN-L in the message.
