Mike mentions: "One flick that comes immeadiatley to mind (although it's artistic merits could be debated) is CLUE, with Dr. Frank-n-furter. There were 3 different endings to the whodunnit, all of which were shown on the home video release. I don't remember though, how the three versions were released. If all three were released in the same market, etc...." Actually, in most place, the three endings of CLUE were shown at the same theater, sometimes in different rooms in the multiplex, sometimes at different times--a gimmick to get more people to see a pretty wretched film. Of course, the most egregious editings of films for regional markets were in the days of segregation, when a major black actor might be edited out of the film in Southern theaters. I don't really know about more contemporary films, except that some films which had sex and/or violence trimmed for the U.S. market might have those elements restored for international viewing.
