In my defence, I have to say that I was making a serious reply to a query concerning films set in Paris that treat the subject of sexual obsession. It seemed to me that The Phantom of the Oera was a worthy example, which I felt other contributors might overlook in favour of 'art- house' films (I can think of several that fit the bill). The Hunchback of Notre Dame (and I'm afraid the note I posted about this was also form of a question: your reprimand came too late) is another example of a popular movie on the subject. I posed my answer in the form of a quiz question simply because the Phantom of the Opera seemed to be at once an obvious and an unlikely example -- and I thought the contributers might have fun guessing. My apologies to other Screen-L contributors. I'll make sure that any future contributions I make to the list take a less frivolous form. -- Greg Evans ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gregory Evans 46 Greenham Road phone and fax: +44 (0)181 883 2085 London e-mail: [log in to unmask] N10 1LP ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ---- To signoff SCREEN-L, e-mail [log in to unmask] and put SIGNOFF SCREEN-L in the message.
