Those of you who have been around the e-mail world for a while know that
the Internet was preceded by a network known as BITNET (Because It's Time
NETwork).  In the US, this was the first major e-mail network and it was
the e-mail system for which LISTSERV (the software operating SCREEN-L) was
originally designed.
 
Over the past year or so, BITNET has been dismantled.  This dismantling has
recently reached SCREEN-L's home at the University of Alabama, or UA1VM.
 
This means nothing to most SCREEN-L subscribers, as they've never accessed
SCREEN-L as a BITNET address.  However, if you have been sending mail to
SCREEN-L's BITNET address (see below), then you'll now need to start using
the Internet equivalent.
 
SCREEN-L's BITNET addresses look like this:
