----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Pixelvision is a childen's camera put out by Fischer-Price. It has limited capabilities, but some video makers have liked the grainy, textured images it produces. Sadie Benning is a young filmmaker who, at age 15 or so, began using a Pixelvision her father had given her for Christmas to make intimate, highly personal films about herself, her life, and her experience coming out as lesbian. The early films are charming, but as Benning gets more and more adept with the Pixelvision they become quite profound, quite moving. There was a brief piece on Pixelvisions in the Village Voice a year or two ago, and articles about Benning's work usually mention it. Gayle Wald [log in to unmask]
