----------------------------Original message---------------------------- CALL FOR ENTRIES THE 1995 UFVA STUDENT FILM & VIDEO FESTIVAL Founded to survey and exhibit the very best in student work worldwide, the UFVA STUDENT FILM & VIDEO FESTIVAL announces its third annual competition. Works must have been completed no earlier than May 1993, and while the film/video maker was enrolled in an educational institution (University/College Undergraduate or Graduate level). Entries are being accepted in four categories: Animation, Documentary, Experimental, and Narrative. First, Second and Third place prizes, as well as several Honorable Mentions, will be awarded in each category. All works will be prescreened by a panel of filmmakers, teachers, and curators; finalists are sent on the the Finalist Judges. 1994 finalist judges included Susan Seidelman, Allison Anders, Christine Choy, Tom Kalin, Art Clokey, Jill Godmilow, Craig Baldwin, Kathy High & others. The festival premieres each year at the conference of the University FIlm & Video Association, which will be held this year in Keene, New Hampshire, August 2-5. Following the conference, selected works will go on a national tour. 1994 tour sites included: American Cinemateque, Los Angeles; Neighborhood Film/Video Project, Philadelphia; Films From the Margin, Boston; Rhode Island School of Design; Stanford University; American University. At least $2500 in cash will be awarded; all entrants receive a free copy of the UFVA International Festival Directory for Students.
