I am not going to try to attempt to be an expert on the subject, but what I
liked about NBK was the fact that the telling of the story was not (as in
many Hollywood films) purely a function of the content of the film, but also
of its style.  What I mean (and forgive me as I state the obvious) is that
because Stone uses the MTV style etc, the actual construction of the film is
part of its narrative/narration.  I look at _Hiroshima Mon Amour_ as a parallel.
