I've been reading the posts with some fascination; particularly the ones headed AVID. None of them have anything to do with AVID - it seems to have become the generic name for the manipulation of digital images. The irony is that the two films most talked about in this group PULP FICTION and FRANKENSTEIN were both edited on a Lightworks. Lightworks is a British invention which has captured the top end of film production. Three weeks ago of the top ten grossing films in the USA 5 were cut on Lightworks!! Heavyworks the online and multi camera version has recently been released and will knock out the eye of anbody who thinks they have seen the cutting edge. The reason that Lightworks has been so successful with film-makers is that it was designed and engineered by film-makers not computer engineers who saw a market segment for their product. The differance (ala Derrida) is astonishing. No doubt some of you will have experienced this for yourselves. CUT Bob Weis ------------------------ Bob Weis [log in to unmask]
