From a British cinema perspective - PINK STRING AND SEALING WAX, MADONNA
OF THE SEVEN MOONS, THE MAN IN GRAY, THE WICKED LADY, AN INSPECTOR CALLS,
FANNY BY GASLIGHT. Probably many many more titles could be added from all
branches of world cinema. Class exists as an issue in RAISE THE RED
LANTERN, as well as the many film versions made of Emile Zola novels
(Germinal, Piping Hot, etc). Tony Williams
