Although it has been said to be a terrible adaptation of the book,

_Bonfire of the Vanities_ has a take on classism, among the many isms that it

deals with. Hope this isn't redundant.

We too often think(still taking our model from the stage) when writing for
film that we are primarily concerned with people speaking. But, as Wolf
Rilia, a British writer/director points out, "Houses speak, trees speak: a
gesture, an expression passing over a face, the visual texture of a shot:
a cloudscape, a man sitting in a pool of lamp light, the sound of
footsteps, a door creaking: a viewpoint, an angle of vision, the sensation
of movement, stillness, immobility." Films speak a language called
"Picture."
