Dear Pam, Much earlier than the examples cited are several other items,
some going back well before film and television.
 1. 22B Baker Street, London - a constant source of amusement to policemen
when tourists used to enquire about the non-existent residence of Sherlock
Holmes and Dr. Watson.
2. Portmeirion, North Wales - the location of The Village in the 1966-67
PRISONER television series starring Patrick Mc.Goohan. From the 70s
onwards, it became a popular tourist spot for individual fans as well as
groups belonging to the Six of One Prisoner fan club. Indeed, so dominant
was the hold of this location that one member, Max Hora, "resigned" from
his job and set up a souvenir shop in the structure which was originally
Number Six's residence in the series."Be Seeing You" Tony Williams.
