on tarantine:
regarding improvisation in reservoir dogs, i am not sure how safe it is
to assume that the film's verbal and acting strengths come solely
from improv.  taking true romance into consideration, i believe the
similarities in dialogue style, wording, pacing, etc. are very apparent
between it and reservoir dogs.  this is obviously a tarantino style,
not generated only because of a talented cast of actors.  secondly,
a director does not simply "let" his actors improv as he sits back
and relaxes.  directing improv, if it is to be good, is a very difficult
task, and one which deserves credit if it produces quality.
