Contact the Museum of Broadcasting in New York (your local library should have the address). There's also a museum in the mid-west devoted to broadcasting as well. Your friend, if he tracks down the show, should contact a local history museum or his university archives (if he teaches at a particular university) to see if they want a copy as well -- they might want a copy for their own collection if there is a local angle to the appearance.
