I agree completely with Marc on the issue of Tombstone vs Wyatt Earp. I had to force myself to stay awake during Tombstone. The romance between Russell and Dana Delaney's characters was ridiculous. It seemed that the director looked at his watch every 20 minutes and then threw in a love scene. It appeared to have no place in the film or in understanding the character of Wyatt Earp. Cosner's Wyatt Earp, however, I loved. By giving more information about Earp's childhood and life before Tombstone, I felt I understood his (Earp's) motives for the slaughter at Tombstone. The relationships seemed genuine instead of contrived. Wyatt Earp gave me a better idea and understanding of the character of Wyatt Earp where Tombstone put me to sleep. I would like to hear what others think, especially from those who liked Tombstone. Amy Dean University of Alabama
