Not all cable companies get Bravo, alas, including ours. We do get 2 PBS stations and some stuff trickles through on A&E and even Lifetime(!) but it could and should be more. There's also pay channels such as Cinemax, if you can sort through reruns of HARDBODIES 2. Nonetheless, the interesting thing is that between cable and video, there's probably more access for more people to alternative cinema than at any previous time; however, as a subject of discourse it no longer seems a vital part of the culture. There was a time when it mattered if you were seeing experimental films or European et al. Now it seems truly peripheral. Then again, some of the most interesting stuff is being done for PBS or MTV or even commercials!
