One last comment: I appreciate Cal's remarks (and those of the many
who have posted me directly on this subject). Those who know me know that
I'm not the type to be run off of any list or be intimidated into silence, nor
am I likely to feel traumatized by flame-throwers. On a bad day, I can
throw a few flames with the worst of them! However, like Melville's
"Bartleby the Scrivener," I simply prefer not to. Unsubscribing (for a time)
is simply my method of choice of taking a break and making a
point at the same time.

There may be better ways to do these things, but it's what I've hit upon for
now.

Thanks to all!

Alison
