In Canada, it is even more bleak. Canada is under the umbrella of US distribution channels, the result being that Canadian films in Canada are treated as foreign films. The last Canadian film to play in a first run showing was, by my memory, "Black Robe". It doesn't help that most Canadians believe in the "Canadian production = Garbage" equation, what with being spoiled by big budget US films being released simultaneously here and there. The fact that they shot "Delores Clairborne" in this province is really cold comfort for me, not when Hollywood and my government don't respect our culture, whatever THAT is. Tirade over. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Keep your stick on the ice. Leslie J.
