Dear Roger: What bothers me is that you seem SO worried about what THEY will think. Who cares what they think? Since when does/or has a film to be PC? I've beeen producing and directing films for many years now and I've always found that saying what you feel is the best policy. I've found that my audiences appreciate that very much. I've recently completed a feature called "Healer." The film deals with issues of old people and young people. "Warehousing" our aged parents, for instance. At times, the film is very hard-hitting. I've seen several older people walk out of screenings because they felt insulted. But, by far, the older viewers that stayed for the whole film were glad they did. I know this note is too late for your Friday night "skewering", but hang in there...stick to your guns. A film (and the filmmaker) that worries about offending someone's sensibilities, is a boring, dishonest film. Regards, John G. Thomas
