A double bonus for the person who started this thread, if s/he is
not already aware of it, is Raoul Walsh's "Revolt of Mamie Stover."
The bonus comes from an interesting essay about this and other Walsh
films, which is included in an anthology called something like "Issues
in Feminist Film Criticism."  (It's at home, and I'm at work.)  If you
need more exact information, just post here.  I'm sure many folks on
this list are familiar with that text.
