Those interested in such matters may find "Cinema Verite: History and Legacy," at Penn State University's School of Communication, 14-16 April, to be of some interest. Invited guest filmmakers include Robert and Ann Drew, and Charlotte Zwerin (Jennie Livingston cancelled because of a date conflict). Drew films CRISIS: BEHIND A PRESIDENTIAL COMMITMENT, FOR AUCTION: AN AMERICAN HERO, and his latest L.A. CHAMPIONS will be shown, along with PARIS IS BURNING and two of Zwerin's films. Panels include "Cinema Verite: History and Legacy," "Pioneers: Women in Cinema Verite," and "New Directions in Documentary Filmmaking." Sorry this notice is so late; the organizers apparnetly have had some difficulty getting all the pieces in place. But it's all free, so if it's your interest, join in. - *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** P.J.
