Those interested in such matters may find "Cinema Verite: History and
Legacy," at Penn State University's School of Communication, 14-16 April, to
be of some interest.  Invited guest filmmakers include Robert and Ann Drew,
and Charlotte Zwerin (Jennie Livingston cancelled because of a date
conflict).  Drew films CRISIS: BEHIND A PRESIDENTIAL COMMITMENT, FOR
AUCTION: AN AMERICAN HERO, and his latest L.A. CHAMPIONS will be shown,
along with PARIS IS BURNING and two of Zwerin's films.  Panels include
"Cinema Verite: History and Legacy," "Pioneers: Women in Cinema Verite," and
"New Directions in Documentary Filmmaking."
  Sorry this notice is so late; the organizers apparnetly have had some
difficulty getting all the pieces in place.  But it's all free, so if it's
your interest, join in.
