RE:  Remakes.  Recent film version of __Last of the Mohicans__ was directed
by Michael Mann, not Anthony Mann.  Otherwise, remakes are, in fact, too
numerous to list.  The most obscure might be the translation of Japanese
samurai "Zatoichi, the Blind Swordsman" into the spaghetti Western
__Blindman__.
