Well sir, it was on this day *three years* ago that life was breathed into SCREEN-L. We started out slowly, built to a plateau of around 300 subscribers early on, and then, in the past 6-12 months, ballooned up to our current level of 630+ SCREEN-Litarians. I'm always amazed and pleased by how convivial and collegial discussion on SCREEN-L has been--especially considering that it's wholly unmoderated. At this point there've been thousands of messages distributed through the SCREEN-L channel, and only a tiny tiny number of them have been of the genus flammage. Dang, it's a regular testament to the human spirit! (Who needs SCHINDLER'S LIST?) Thanks to everyone out there (across the USA and Canada, and in Australia, New Zealand, England, Germany, Poland, Brazil...) for supporting SCREEN-L through your participation and your encouragement of others to join the SCREEN-L fold. And join me in thanking the folks at the University of Alabama's Seebeck Computer Center who've kept this LISTSERV going with remarkable little downtime and, to my knowledge, *no* lost messages. Take care everyone...and keep the fur flying (er...I'm not sure what I mean by that...)! --Jeremy ===================================================================== Jeremy Butler [log in to unmask] SCREEN-L Coordinator [log in to unmask] Telecommunication & Film Dept. * University of Alabama * Tuscaloosa =====================================================================
