As a followup to Alex Mackenzie's query "Seeking Rare Films" I don't have an answer but I do have a further question: What happened to the various distribution companies that made Soviet films available in the U.S. throughout the 60s and 70s (e.g., Artkino, Sovexportfilm, etc.)? A number of the films, including the noteworthy Ordinary Fascism, seem to be unavailable at this time. Anyone know whether these libraries are handled by specific distributors, or whether they have been "orphaned"? Thanks. Rick Prelinger Prelinger Archives, New York City [log in to unmask]
