* Instead of thinking of the Huunter character a a person or as a metaphor * for persons, why not think of her as an alegory for a certain cinema, that * of image, music, and desire. A cinema which in the context of current * films acts as an alternative to the masculinist, dialouge driven drivel that * comes out of Hollywood? I must say I've never seen the words "masculinist" and "dialogue driven" used together to describe typical Hollywood fare...they seem at opposite poles, don't you think? I would use the former to describe, say, Terminator, and the latter for, uh, Beaches. Not much of the other in either film, really. I think a film where Schwarzenegger plays a small child torn from his brother by a cruel older woman who buys him from his mother, who makes him shave her legs on the front porch and keeps his brother's letters from him, would be a triumph for the industry. :-) -- Mark Bunster |I'm not an actor, but I play one on TV.
