Don Ulin appeals to us to send responses to queries only
to the original questioner, and not to the list as a whole.
With respect, Don, while I agree that information glut is always
a problem on the nets, I generally prefer to see answers to
queries sent to the list as a whole, for the general edification
of the whole. And it does seem to me that the ongoing wave of
answers becomes self-stimulating--creating an effect that would
very possibly not occur were we to send answers only to the
originator of a question. At its very best, such waves of
response go beyond simple lists of films and turn into searching
discussions--one of the most valuable aspects of these listserv
groups.
