I just saw the annoying GR&RS at a revival house here in Baltimore (on a
double feature with Sonic Youth's '1991: THE YEAR PUNK BROKE') Most of
the film elaborated on the conceits of self-proclaimed genius and
mischief-maker Malcolm McLaren, and how he successfully styled the Sex
Pistols to ruin British culture and make him a fortune.

He spent most of the film cutting on Johnny Rotten for 'selling out'
upon the Pistols' demise. The bitterest PiL is hard to swallow, I
guess.

Too bad John Lydon can't act his way out of a paper bag (anyone ever see
him in COP KILLER with Harvey Keitel?).

Also: look for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' surprise appearance in Wim
Wenders' WINGS OF DESIRE: it's sublime.
