There's a new academic job listing service available on the Internet via Gopher. I haven't tested it yet, but here's the basic info: INFORMATION ADVISORY ACADEMIC POSITION NETWORK A new on-line information service for providing notice of academic position openings is now available to users of Internet/Gopher. This on-line information service supports institutions announcing open positions, and those individuals searching for a new position. The service is called the Academic Position Network (APN). Institutions can submit position announcements through E- mail as well as through more traditional means (Fax, Letter, etc.). Announcements placed in the APN are retained on the network until removal instructions are received from the institution placing the announcement. Individuals seeking information about available academic positions access APN files through Internet/Gopher. The information below describes how to gain access to Gopher and the APN. The procedure and costs to place an announcement in the APN are available in the APN/Gopher files in the directory: "A.P.N. Info and Instructions" or by E-mail to [log in to unmask] Accessing GOPHER To access information through Internet/Gopher, the userUs desk top computer must use Gopher client software.
