Jon Nealon, Your comments about your getting involved with the message of a documentary film you're making, even to the extent that it has "turned into a film about" yourself, reminds me of something I read about Barbara Kopple when she was making "Harlan Country USA." Her original intention was to make a documentary focused on a union election, which resulted in murder, but she became so immersed in the film that she changed the focus. She sided with the strikers in a coal miners vs. management struggle. She clearly went subjective and she clearly took sides. Perhaps because of this, her film is now a classic. It won an Oscar, etc. Ernie.
