Mark -- I'm not familiar with the work you mention on Le Bebete, but would
be interested in taking a look at it. Do you have a citation(s)? My
approach will be more rhetorical/critical in nature. This is still in the
thinking stage, but I'd like to integrate some work with genre -- talk about the
melding of comedy and politics/news. (We've always suspected that the
two had a lot in common, haven't we?) I'll keep you posted as I work
