During the SMPTE 134th Technical Conference and Exhibition, 10 - 13 Nov. 1992 in Toronto there will be a number of ongoing workshops and clinics being offered. 1) Multimedia Workshop Program Hands-on workshops focusing on multimedia, featuring demonstrations and close interaction with media integration technology, as opposed to a lecture-type format. One workshop will be offered each day of the conference. Multimedia Production - Tuesday; Teletraining and Distance Learning - Wednesday; Multimedia Communications - Thursday; Information Access and Retrieval - Friday. 2) Creativity Clinics These clinics are a new feature at the SMPTE Equipment Exhibition. During these sessions, well-known industry experts will offer demonstrations on the creative aspects of motion-picture and television production. Creative lighting techniques, underwater motion imaging, audio effects and aerial filming are among the topics covered. **** During the 134th Technical Conference and Equipment Exhibition, 10-13 Nov. 1992, in Toronto, there will be several events related to the Equipment Exhibition. 1) Exhibition The equipment exhibit will be open from 10am to 6 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and from 10am to 2pm on Friday. Numerous companies (about 200) from North America and abroad are scheduled to exhibit the industry's newest products and latest innovations. 2) Consultants Center A special area in the exhibit hall will house some of the industry's leading consulting firms. Attendees will be able to obtain information on products and services, and seek advice and solutions regarding technical difficulties. 3) Panel Discussions In addition to the traditional papers presentations and product displays, the conference will offer a two-part panel discussion open to all attendees on Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30. The session is entitled "Effects of Digital Video on Future Processing." 4) New Technology Room This highly successful feature will again be featured at this year's exhibit. A number of companies are taking advantage of this facility, which offers exhibitors a special location to introduce their wares and services to the press and other interested parties. 5) HDTV Demonstrations During the Conference there will be all-day HDTV demonstrations, both the European Vision 1250 and the North American/Japanese 1125/60 groups will demonstrate their latest technology. There will also be Film-Tape and Tape-Film transfers and examples of the latest HDTV productions.
