Kerrie's query about Male and Female and The Scarlet Letter and Mark Ritchie's reply illustrate the dismal situation with regard to sources for videorecordings-in-print. Kerrie paid Video Yestersearch to try to find these titles, but they couldn't find them in their database. Then Mark consults _the_ standard reference book for video-in-print and finds one of them. It's ridiculous! By the way, I called Video Yesteryear to find out what database they are using for Video Yestersearch and someone told me they no longer offer the service. I suspect they were using the same database used by PBS Video's Video Finder, Variety's Video Directory Plus, a CD-ROM version of Bowker's Complete Home Video Directory. Your local academic library may subscribe. However, you can pay for a search and have it chared to your phone bill by calling Video Finder at 1/900-860-9301; the charge is $2.00 for the first minute and $1.00 for each additional minute. Without Video Yestersearch, this is an inexpensive alternative to the CD-ROM product ($395 per year). Keep trying, Kerrie, but there is no such thing as a reliable, comprehensive "videorecordings-in-print"! Kris Brancolini Indiana University Libraries
