I know that it is hard to believe but there really is an active fan
community for QL. This has already been recognized by Universal, and
they have started cutting the same kinds of deals with Creation, and
merchandizing that ST:NG has. I felt comfortable with posting to
Rec.arts.tv because every couple of weeks there is a call for votes
from someone who wants QL to have it's own news group. These votes
are usually intiated by non QL fans who are tired of the QL traffic
that occurs on USENET.

I was mostly trying to get advice on ways to approach soliciting
research material via the computer, not the appropriatness of my
topic.

I had been taught in classes that one should always identify oneself
as an academic when you are searching out information. I'm curious
as to whether or not my proclaiming myself as such dampened
responses.
