I have no clear fix on Debbie Allen as a director from other work.  In
STOMPIN' AT THE SAVOY the dance sequences had more vigor and point than the
dialog sequences.  But even the dance sequences seemed to a veteran of
World War Two to be cliched versions of what jitterbug dancing must have been
like.
 
Along around here we get into the LIBERTY VALANCE problem: do we print the
legend when it overreaches the truth?
