Kamins in this month's _Extra!_, the publication of Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR). Of the National Association of Radio Talkshow Hosts' 900-plus members, only 50 are women, Kamins adds. And most of those women offer advice -- psychological, financial or consumer -- rather than commentary on current events. The entire March/April issue of _Extra!_ is devoted to the dearth of women in the media, externally and internally. Additional articles include "All the Women Fit to Print: A Day in the Life of the New York Times"; "Abortion Coverage Leaves Women Out of the Picture" ; "Lesbian Invisibility in the Media" ; "Gender Bias in Televised Sports" ; and "Women Media Workers: No Room at the Top." For a copy, contact FAIR at (212) 633-6700 [You can also reach FAIR electronically at [log in to unmask] which is their PeaceNet address -- Harel] ================================================================== ACTIV-L has several FAIR reports on archive. ====================================== To get a file named FILE NAME from the archiver (files are two words separa- ted by a space), send the 1-line message GET FILE NAME ACTIV-L to: [log in to unmask] ====================================== These are included in the "media/propaganda" section: * * ==================== * Media and propaganda * ==================== * PANAMA INVASION FAIR's report: "How TV Sold the Panama Invasion" CENSORED PROJ1989 Project Censored top 10 stories of 1989 CENSORED PROJ1990 Project Censored top 10 stories of 1990 CONGRESS MEDIA "How capitol hill controls the press" * ABC FAIR Corporate profile of ABC by FAIR CBS FAIR Corporate profile of CBS by FAIR.
