Re the Kinko's decision, I read today (in our campus newspaper, the Daily Pennsylvanian) that material that had previously been considered "fair use", and that Kinko's was reproducing without paying royalties on, is no longer considered so. The result is that it will take Kinko's much longer to put together a bulkpack (because they will have to research all the material) and the packs will be more expensive (because of royalties). The article also said "what was legal Thursday was suddenly not legal Friday", so if you're using bulkpacks right now, be prepared for hassle. I would also appreciate more details about the decision and its ramifications from someone who knows more than I do. -- Pam Inglesby, University of Pennsylvania
